Grandparents' Day

In early September we celebrated FSK's Second Annual Grandparents' Day. The students at Francis Scott Key School have developed mutually beneficial relationships with their grandparents; many of whom are being raised by them. We learn from their years of experience and wisdom, and how they view the world from a different perspective. There is a special bond between these two generations and students are aware of this bond. Students armed with this knowledge strive to extend compassion to the elderly in our society.

Welcome to Grandparents' Day at FSK.	Grandparents' Day 2003 Ms. Macklin, coordinator, displays a "theme" sign, Take Time for the Family.	Like a birthday cake - only sweeter.
Parent volunteers provide refreshments.		Senator George Della, an advocate of education, presented kind words.
Children wrote poetry and displayed artwork for our Grandparents.	Many, many families were represented - some with four generations in attendance.	Entertainment was provided by our talented third graders, directed by Mr. J. Williamson.
